Custom HTML Widget
Hi COJ,
This has gotta be simple but It's got me baffled.
I have a Custom HTML widget on the sidebar to use as a Birthday Announcement for members. I just want to add plain text into the box but nothing I do shows up. Do you know if it can be done? or is it just Flash objects you can put in there?
Thanks
HAL
Aha! Have discovered it you place text in between <span> .... </span> elements it appears. Separate with line breaks <BR>
Now all I need to work out is text decoration for different span elements. Hmmmm.
Update on Custom HTML.
In between the <span> </span> you can include links
<a href="http://hackyour.lefora.com/hal9000/blog/" rel="nofollow" class="external">HAL's Profile</a>
And you can BOLD the text with <strong> ..... </strong> tags.
I just use dreamweaver for my html....
I use several packages but just creating a page and putting them into the custom HTML box does nothing. Save the box and they disappear. So I'm attempting to discover what works there and posting it for the information of others, if that's OK CJO?I just use dreamweaver for my html.... [image]

Post away, my man!
can someone give me a css code for a simple decent looking calendar. i just want to be able to announce member birthdays too.
how do you mean
Go to www.yourminis.com and search for calendar - there are a few there. ie http://www.yourminis.com/minis/yourminis/ucesdis34/mini:ucesdis34
Since rss is no longer available. I'm interested in flashwidget. I'm trying to get ads or news automatically posted on my site. Such as "sportbike news",or sportbikes for sale".....automatically visible on my site.Thxs.

I have my Grooveshark jukebox embedded ok but I can't seem to get it located on the rightside of teh page..I have placed "Custom html" code up and down the selection lines . Early in my efforts I had it perfect on the right side under CUSTOM HTML But ..I wanted to change appearnace of the widget and I messed it up..Any hints as to how to place it on hte right side ANYWHERE ?? :)
btw..Thanks for the hint about changing "object" to "embed" Had to learn that but had seen it already in one of your threads ..
Have requested membership chrly - will check back later...
No hurry..I have seventy more years or so ;)
Ahhhh .I don't know how I did it ..however, I do have the widget on the right side of the page ...Now if I could place it a lil higher on hte page it would be neater. Right now a large blank space exists between teh "Custom html" header and my music widget.
Hmm just noticed a visitor on site. perhaps you got in and did it?
Can you paste the code here? - I can see the big gap in IE8, but it doesn't show up in FF.
