Sidebar width
You know, it's creepy, I was just thinking that I hadn't seen you around for a while, Nicky.
Two things you have to change in the sidebar - the sidebar width and the margin-left figure...
These two figures should be the same, except the margin should be negative. When you increase the sidebar width, it will overlap the main page. To correct this, reduce the width of the content wrapper by the same amount you increased the sidebar by.
thanks jack. i know. ive been focusing on personal issues for a while. but for the most part, im back now. ill try these codes out.
hey jack. ive given you admin status. i put the CSS in at the bottom and didnt notice a change. do yer thing. lol.
Yes, because these are the default values. You have to change them in order to notice a difference...
Hmmm, I've put in the CSS but the site is ignoring it. Maybe Lefora's stopping CSS updates just now. Will check again later....
kay ill leave you as admin for a while then
CSS is working, least on my fora it is. On classic with sidebar I had to add a Header line to shift to the left and reduce the size else it floated over the sidebar.
#sidebar {margin-left:-350px;width:350px;}
#content-wrapper {width:890px;}
#header {width:888px;float:left;}
See the results here http://fptest.lefora.com/forum/
I'm very tired - at least, that's my excuse. I'd placed the width changes after some Javascript in Nicky's CSS. Obviously, lefora is ignoring the CSS, but it's also ignoring everything after it too. The code's working now - I've increased the sidebar by 50px...
Javascript in CSS and it Worked ??? Tell me more
Told you I was tired.. I meant to say 'lefora is ignoring the Javascript, but it's also ignoring everything after it too.' At least, I assume it's ignoring it.
So would this Javascript have been uploaded about the same time as everyone started seeing Server 500 errors and other odd phenomena ???
I can't answer that one....
