Ok now that you all know what/who you are working with here let me explain what is not happening..
I have www.the-second-seventy.com site. I have been a moderator on a medium traffic site for 8 yrs or so . I have NO background in computers except what I have managed to absorb by trial and error and "playing around" .
The Lefora experince was realatively simple even for me :)  so I have my website and..........
I found http://widgets.grooveshark.com a few minutes ago and made a music widget..code for putting it on my site and everything , pretty simple ..HOWEVER.... I do not have the faintest idea of how " to open a door to my webpage in order to place the widget there" I could SURE use a lil guidance???

Well . Like I said above..Lots of info here..I just discovered the answer to my question winkNow to see if I can put it all together..

First off the Widget needs to be flash based, Java script based widgets are not allowed by Lefora due to Security issue. Second is where you would wish to place it.
ie. in a Topic or on your Sidebar. In a Topic simply add the code into the post (also known as embed flash).

For the Sidebar go to Apperance Sidebar> Select Widget to add> pick Custom HTML and put the code into the code area. Save, and that should get you up and running.

Oh BTW, nice to have you here. I also am learning this as I go so no need to feel intimidated.

One important thing to remember when creating a Custom HTML widget. Once you add it to the sidebar, click save, return to your forum, then re-enter forum admin and add your html... A

Adding a Custom HTML widget and HTML code at the same time can cause problems...

Ok this may be my problem but I have tried to remove everything and then do it step by step..In Firefox, the widget just stays on hte left. In Google, the widget will fit under Customhtml at the bottom right altho it is kinda far down the page IE seems to work more or less ok also..Bummer cause I use Firefox for almost everything.... I will wait now for expert advice before I really mes something up <g>

NEW QUESTION along  same lines. Is there a way to keep musical continuity as one slips bewteen and around teh website?? I know you can open two windows and just leave the one run but that just doesn't seem real techie to me <g>

FOr anyone else with similar problems, I think the key is like jack said before ..Do ONE step, then go to your site and see what has happened..I was trying to do  to much at once...

The only option is to get a player that allows you to open it in a standalone player. I dont know if yours does, but the www.playlist.com player does.
